If you haven't heard all the hoohaw, there was a total lunar eclipse last night. It was the first total lunar eclipse to coincide with the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere since the one in 1638 which I missed. Raphael woke me up around 12:45 this morning and we sat in our plastic Adirondack chairs in the backyard and watched the moon move through a thin and patchy cloudcover and the red shadow of the earth creep across it. It wasn't that cold last night and we didn't see any Druids.
