something i did this weekend that has nothing to do with giant gators

I made the firepit. Well, technically, it's still in progress, but I made some of it.  I made the hard part. 

Here are two pictures of our new gator-free firepit-in-progress:


If there's anything life has prepared me for up to this point,
it's digging a damn fine hole.




Here's the hole lined with recycled bricks.
All the construction materials we're using for our firepit area,
with the exception of the mortar, are either "found", recycled, or gifted. 
(Not "smart"-gifted, but gifted to us most likely by Amy,
who's also the one who leaves the sinister food items on the porch.)
